FENCING PRODUCTS

Wood Posts:
Wood posts are used extensively due to availability, ease of handling and low cost. If you want to minimize maintenance costs, treat wood posts. Untreated wood which contracts the ground decays in three to 12 years.

Presure Treated Posts:
Pressure-treated wooden posts are usually better than ones treated with a non pressure process, because the wood preservative is
forced into the wooden posts to a grater depth. Pressure treating can add up to 25 percent to the fence cost but it extends post life by 20
years.

Some types of preservative treatments can be carried out on your operation. Posts must be well-seasoned for these methods to work. Seasoning normally takes two to four summer months, or a six to eight-month winter period.
